Creative sound design, audio post production, field recording and audio works

I am a sound designer from Edinburgh working in film, animation, experimental radio, and installation settings. My work has featured in festivals and on radio, and has won an award from the Edinburgh International film festival. I am certified on Avid Protools and offer services in all areas of audio post production, including dialogue editing, sound design, original foley and mixing in up to 5.1 surround sound.

services

I enjoy creating worlds through sound. My practice centres on building atmosphere and telling stories through experimentation led sound design.

I am experienced at cleaning up and editing dialogue using industry standard tools, including iZotope’s RX plugins.

I provide foley, creating clean and accurate sound effects to give your project a professional sounding quality.

I have experience mixing on a s6 mixing console and am able to produce broadcast ready work in up to 5.1 surround sound.

My scores have gone to several festivals where they have gained recognition. My experimental scoring in The Fields was noted at EIFF and my more ambient scoring for Santi Migranti was screened across Italy. I am happy to design original scores, but also enjoy working alongside directors and composers to bring other scores to life.

'Morph The Day Nothing Happened'

This work stands as a good example of my creative approach towards sound effects and my imagination when it comes to working with animation. I used a variety of household objects to make up the soundscape and scored it with a detuned kalimba and a tin whistle.

For this work I experimented recording my internal body sounds through different microphones. I also designed several of the sections exclusively on a four track tape machine, processing with outboard effects and verispeed before bouncing them back into the piece.

'The Homebody' (2026) Fiction, dramaFor this piece of sound design in a live action horror context, I used recordings of mealworms as a recurring motif and recordings of failing plumbing for the general soundscape of the scene. The bite sound was designed by layering the sounds of balloons and vegetables.

'Picture This' (2025) DocumentaryThis project involved a lot of work scoring where I experimented with various instruments and music making techniques. I also incorporated the personal archive sound into my design, transforming low quality phone audio into an engaging and original soundscape.

'Cut Off' (2025)This is an example of my sound design in a more realist context with much more ordinary backgrounds and some work editing music.

'The impossible' (2026) film scoreThis work, which consists of demos and final mixes was the product of my scoring for the film 'The imposible'. I was practicing with exclusively analogue producing, recording and mixing on cassette and then bouncing onto a stereo reel to reel. I used a lot of vintage fan organ sounds and violin sounds which I layered and manipulated.

Santi Migranti (2022) DocumentaryOn this film I worked as the composer writing and producing the score. This work was all done on guitar and it went to several festivals around Italy.

field recording

For a long time I've been a keen field recordist collecting ambiences and effects which I consistently use throughout my work in film.

experiments and audio works

Outside of the visual world I enjoy engaging in experimental sound works which range from music to radio plays to installation based projects. I'm inspired by analogue tape and archival sound in these works particularly

This piece 'Meshes' is part of Glasgow based radio art collective Radiophrenia's programming for september 2026. For me this is a silent radio play, taken from Maya Derren's original film without words we follow her footsteps through various worlds.

An EP made several years ago which scored and made up the sound design to the film 'The Fields' which won the New Visions competition in the Edinburgh International film festival 2022. This started my experimenting with contact microphones, verispeeding and reversing among other techniques

Some experimenting with tape loops and archive sound as well as a nice showcase of some field recordings collected at the time this was made
